The rising compensation costs are heading down in the PHX metro after being above the national average for the past year.

Compensation costs for private industry workers increased 4.4 percent in the Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale, AZ metropolitan area for the year ended December 2022, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Regional Commissioner Chris Rosenlund noted that one year ago, Phoenix experienced an annual gain of 4.9 percent in compensation costs.
