What a fun and insightful morning at WATT.
After some great announcements, Juliet Peters took us straight into my world with a discussion on the terms that should appear in a Letter of Intent and Purchase Agreement. We had a lively conversation around baskets, reps and warranties, sandbagging, and the key deal terms that need to be addressed early if you want a greater likelihood of actually getting the business sold instead of watching the deal fall apart later.
Definitely speaking my language.
Joyce Barden then transported us to the Minnesota State Fair, and I loved her observations about generations of families spending quality time together and simply enjoying the experience.
And then came the statistic that blew my mind. The Corn Roast sells roughly 25,000 ears of corn a day during the 12 day fair and brings in about seven semis of corn cobs each day. Wow.
She also shared that families and children can experience the miracle of animals giving birth, from piglets to chicks. I am so glad traditions like this still exist and continue to bring generations together.
Next week, I am looking forward to hearing from Teri, whose company actually created our signage.
Another morning of business insight, unexpected learning, great conversation, and wonderful WATT energy.
