Even with Inflation showings its head consumer spending is strong. According to Axios:

Consumer optimism returned this month as cases of COVID-19 dropped.

The consumer confidence index rose for the first time since June, the Conference Board reported today.

At 113.8, October’s gauge was higher than what economists expected, signaling higher consumer willingness to shop and spend.
